Mr. Kimmel has a wide range of advising, investing, and operational experiences for over 35 years ranging from serving innovative start-ups to the largest global insurance companies. Prior to co-founding Insurance Advisory Partners, David was a Senior Advisor on the InsurTech Strategy Board of Advisors at Hudson Structured Capital Management and a Managing Partner and Founder of Summit Capital, a merchant banking boutique, where he advised and invested in a range of financial services and technology clients. He was previously CEO of CyberRiskPartners, a cyber risk analytics and risk transfer solutions company, and was a frequent speaker on cyber risk at national industry conferences and senior executive off-sites.
Prior to this, Mr. Kimmel was an investment banker for more than two decades in the US and UK. He advised insurance clients regarding mergers and acquisitions and public and private capital raising while serving at JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, and Kidder Peabody. Mr. Kimmel led the insurance industry practices at JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank and served on the Investment Banking Management Committees at both firms. Over the course of his career, he has advised on billions of dollars in significant M&A transactions and financings for industry leaders in insurance. Mr. Kimmel has also been named to public and private company boards in a variety of sectors, including reinsurance, life insurance and annuities, cyber risk, asset management, fintech, and insurtech.
Mr. Kimmel holds an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois, with matriculation in the James Scholar Program in Engineering. He has also completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and MIT. He is committed to exceptional performance and overcoming major challenges, as also demonstrated by the completion of seven 140.6 mile Ironman triathlons within a three-year period, age group wins in triathlon, and speed mountaineering ascents.

Tony has over 34 years of the insurance industry and investment banking experience. Tony has been involved in advising on over 100 insurance industry M&A transactions and hundreds of insurance capital raising transactions, spanning the spectrum of IPOs, common equity, convertible, preferred, debt, surplus note, hybrid, and ILS deals.
Tony has always been a staunch advocate for his clients, consistently delivering honest, objective, thoughtful, and creative advice. He is an effective and expert negotiator who understands the finesse and art of the deal. He is a builder and an innovator and has frequently written or spoken about what the insurer of the future will look like.
Tony started his career as an analyst at DLJ, went on to work at Merrill Lynch and SG Warburg before building and heading the Global Financial Institutions Group at Bank of America for 10 years before being named a Vice-Chairman. Clive Buesnel

Clive has over 25 years of leadership roles in the global insurance industry.

Clive then spent ten years at Deloitte where he was a senior Partner, head of insurance in the UK and a member of the global insurance executive. Clive was Vice Chairman of the UK firm.
For the last three years Clive was CEO of Tysers, the oldest Insurance Broker in Lloyd’s. Clive turned the business around as a PE owned business and then sold the business to an industry buyer.
Clive is married with three grown up boys and two dogs and when not working loves to spend his time on, in or near the water with a particular passion for sailing in warm waters. Clive is an Alumni of Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining IAP, Tyler worked as both an Investment Banking Analyst and Associate at Wells Fargo Securities where he advised on a number of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions in the Financial Institutions industry, with a focus on the insurance vertical.

Prior to joining IAP, Sam worked at Fenchurch Advisory Partners, the London-based FIG specialist investment bank. Within Fenchurch he focused on the global insurance industry, predominantly advising life, non-life and financial sponsor clients on M&A and capital raising.
He advised on a number of transactions including AXA’s disposal of a significant German life insurance portfolio to Athora, Direct Line’s acquisition of By Miles and Markerstudy’s acquisition of BGL’s insurance broking business.

Brad Emmons is the Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman of Orchid Insurance (“Orchid”), a leading independent Managing General Underwriter (MGU) with offices in Vero Beach, Tampa, Miami, Houston and the Northeast. He is a proven entrepreneur who has led companies with a successful track record from earlier incubation to private equity-backed ownership.
Mr. Emmons served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Orchid from 2008 to April 2021. Under his leadership, Orchid became one of the largest privately held insurance intermediaries specializing in underwriting property insurance that today manages over $80 billion of insured values. Highlights of company milestones during Mr. Emmons tenure include: (i) private equity transactions in 2014 to Gryphon Investors and a subsequent recapitalization sale to Towerbrook Capital Partners; (ii) transformative growth in the form of three acquisitions, formation of new business verticals; and (iii) product and geographic expansion. He is a co-founder of CrossCover Insurance Services, a focused mid-market commercial MGU, and was involved in the joint venture formation of True Property Insurance, an A- AM Best Rated Florida domiciled reciprocal. Before serving as Orchid’s President, Mr. Emmons oversaw the company’s underwriting programs and retail distribution strategies.
Mr. Emmons also has retail insurance brokerage experience as a Chief Executive Officer and board member before leading the company through a sale to a strategic acquirer. Today, Mr. Emmons provides professional advisory services to industry entrepreneurs like himself. He currently serves as an advisor for Player’s Health, Field Pros Direct, Exclusive Underwriting Managers, and Better Agency.
Mr. Emmons is a Florida Licensed 2-20 General Lines Agent. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude from the University of Toledo and was a first-team Mid-American Conference tennis athlete. Mr. Emmons also has a Juris Doctor Degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He is an active member of the Florida Palm Beach Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and is involved in various local charities. He and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Vero Beach, FL and Greenville, SC, and have two children, Morgan, 18 and Jacob, 16.

Robin has extensive experience across financial services having worked in both commercial and investment banking, venture capital and private equity, and insurance. He has advised European, Canadian, and US insurers, banks, and governments on M&A and advisory assignments as well as equity and debt capital raisings.
From 2010 to 2015 he was Co-Head and head of Financial Institutions at Royal Bank of Canada in Europe, following Royal Bank of Canada’s acquisition of Loudoun Capital Partners, a London-based insurance-focused advisory firm he co-founded following the collapse of Lehman.
He joined Lehman Brothers Europe in 1995 where he was Head of Insurance, responsible for originating advisory and capital raising business from Europe’s largest insurers. Prior to Lehman Brothers Europe, he worked for St James’ Place plc, advising Sir Mark Weinberg on various strategic initiatives including the development of the wealth management business and the establishment of Life Assurance Holdings Corporation - then the largest UK life run-off company – now part of Phoenix Group.
Currently, he is an investor in and an adviser to several private companies across different sectors including financial services, on-line marketing, solar power, and media. He also an investment committee member of a US private equity fund focused on the US water industry.

Over the course of Marvin Pestcoe’s 35-year career in insurance, he has held a wide range of executive roles including leadership positions in profit center management, investments, corporate strategy, data analysis, capital modeling, and risk management.
Most recently, Marvin was the Chairman and CEO at Langhorne Re, the joint-venture, third-party capital-backed life and annuity reinsurance firm launched by RenaissanceRe and Reinsurance Group of America.
Prior to that Marvin held a series of senior management positions at PartnerRe, including CEO Life & Health, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Risk and Actuarial Officer. He was also a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Before joining PartnerRe, Marvin was Chief Actuary for Swiss Re New Markets.
Marvin has served as a director on multiple insurance and reinsurance boards. He is currently an independent director of Hamilton Insurance Group where he chairs the Investment Committee.
Marvin is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Joseph J. Plumeri

Joe Plumeri, a native of Trenton, New Jersey, has enjoyed a career in global businesses, community leadership and service on behalf of civic, philanthropic and charitable causes spanning six decades. Today, Mr. Plumeri serves as a Senior Advisor to Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (KKR), where he was appointed Executive Chairman of Selecta Group in May 2020, having joined the Group’s Board in March 2020.
Previously, Mr. Plumeri served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Data Corporation, the world’s largest payments and business solutions company. He joined the company in 2013 after serving for 13 years as Chairman & CEO of Willis Group Holdings and, prior to that, more than 30 years in a variety of leadership roles at Citigroup and its predecessor companies.
A renowned public speaker and authority on leadership, Mr. Plumeri is the author of
the national bestselling book The Power of Being Yourself.

Johan Slabbert is a seasoned insurance industry executive with over 27 years of global experience across the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia. Johan’s extensive experience includes leading large, complex global insurance businesses and successfully executing strategic M&A deals and various financing transactions.
Prior to joining IAP, Johan was the CEO of MSIG Holdings (USA), the onshore U.S. (re)insurance arm of Japan’s MS&AD Insurance Group. He played a critical role in driving the growth of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, particularly through his leadership of MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd (“MS AUL”), where he spearheaded a successful underwriting turnaround initiative. Johan’s tenure at MS AUL was preceded by his role as Chairman of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company (Europe) Limited, further demonstrating his leadership within the Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group.
Before his work with MS&AD, Johan served as the CEO and Founder of Augustus Specialty LLC, and held senior roles at Chaucer Limited (Lloyd’s of London) where he was both CEO and CFO. His career began at AIG, where he held various senior finance and non-finance positions across multiple continents, including six years in Japan, shaping his broad international expertise.
Johan’s deep industry knowledge, combined with his sharp business acumen and objective approach, make him a valued advisor and leader in the insurance sector. At IAP, he is dedicated to delivering insightful and strategic advice to clients globally, while continuing to contribute to the growth of the firm.

Christopher Young
In his 35 years of banking, based in New York and London, his practice has been global. He has advised clients in strategic mergers and acquisitions, company and business sales, and important financing transactions across the world, including in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Chris has originated and led a wide variety of corporate transactions, for both publicly traded and private companies, primarily life, property & casualty, financial guaranty and brokerage companies. He has advised many of the world’s largest insurers and assisted a wide range of other participants in the insurance market. His work has included advising a number of boards of directors, chief executive officers, chief financial officers and corporate merger and acquisition groups.
He most recently served as a Managing Director at Moelis and Company. Previously Chris was a Managing Director at S. G. Warburg & Co., J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and UBS. He started in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Vice President. Chris began his Wall Street career as a corporate and banking associate at the law firm of White & Case.
Chris has also served as a member of boards of directors and trustees for various companies and organizations. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, University of Oxford (New College) and Georgetown University Law Center.
